Entering Condo Properties with Unit Numbers

Properly entering unit numbers for condominium properties ensures accurate property data retrieval and prevents confusion when multiple units share the same street address.

Updated over 2 months ago

Overview

Condominiums present a unique challenge in Deal Details because multiple units exist at the same street address. Without specifying the unit number, the system cannot distinguish between units in the same building, which may lead to incorrect property data or search results. Taking a few extra seconds to enter the unit number ensures you pull the correct listing information, photos, and sales price for your client's specific unit.

Before You Start

Requirement

Details

Property listing source

Have the condo listing open (Zillow, MLS, etc.) with the unit number visible

Complete address

Street address including city, state, and zip code

Unit identifier

The specific unit, apartment, or suite number from the listing

Step-by-Step: Adding a Condo Property

1. Start Building the Property Card

  • Navigate to Deal Details

  • Begin entering the property address in the address field

  • Allow the address autocomplete to populate

2. Notice the Unit Number Gap

⚠️ Important: The address autocomplete will not include unit numbers automatically. The system shows only the building address, which could match dozens of units in the same complex.

3. Enter the Unit Number

  • Type the unit number exactly as it appears on the listing

  • The system automatically appends the unit to the display address

Tips for Success

  • Always double-check unit formatting—some listings use "Unit 102" while others use "#102" or just "102." Enter it as shown on your source.

  • Pull the unit number before starting—have your listing source visible so you can reference the exact unit identifier without switching tabs.

  • Watch for similar addresses—in large condo complexes, buildings may have nearly identical addresses. The unit number is what distinguishes your client's property from their neighbors.

  • Verify with the listing photo—if the returned property image looks different from your listing, the unit number may be incorrect or formatted differently.
