Overview
Deal Details uses timed login sessions as a security feature to protect your account and client data. While sessions are designed to last through a typical workday, leaving the software open overnight or during extended breaks can trigger an automatic logout. Understanding this behavior helps you avoid confusion when the system appears to behave unexpectedly right before a session expires.

How Session Timeouts Work
1. Session Duration
Your login session begins the moment you sign in and remains active long enough for a full workday of continuous use.
2. What Triggers a Timeout
Sessions expire when the software has been open beyond the allowed duration, regardless of activity. Common scenarios include:
Scenario | What Happens |
Leaving software open overnight | Session expires; you'll need to log in again the next morning |
Extended lunch or meetings | Session may expire if away too long |
Browser tab left idle | Session timer continues running in the background |
3. Warning Signs Before Logout
⚠️ Important: In the final 15 seconds before logout, the software may display unexpected behavior such as missing data, blank screens, or incomplete page loads. This is normal and does not indicate data loss.
When your session is about to expire:
Pages may appear empty or incomplete (e.g., video library showing no videos)
A popup notification will appear stating "Session limit reached"
You will be prompted to acknowledge and return to the login screen
What to Do When Your Session Expires
1. Acknowledge the Timeout
Click OK on the session expiration popup
2. Log Back In
Enter your credentials on the login screen
All your data and work will be intact once you're logged back in
3. Resume Your Work
Navigate back to where you were working
Verify your data appears as expected
Quick Reference
Session expires → Unexpected screen behavior → "Session limit reached" popup → Click OK → Log back in → Data restored
Tips for Success
Start fresh each morning—log out at the end of your workday and log back in the next day to ensure a full session
Don't panic at blank screens—if data suddenly disappears, wait a few seconds for the timeout notification before troubleshooting
Bookmark your place mentally—when you see the logout warning, note where you were so you can quickly return after logging back in
Check your session first—if the software behaves oddly, try logging out and back in before contacting support
